Season series: The Los Angeles Kings have defeated the Calgary Flames three times this season. The Kings won 4-1 on Dec. 31 at Scotiabank Saddledome, and 2-1 on Feb. 23 and 3-0 on Mar. 31 at Staples Center. Center Anze Kopitar has a goal and three assists, and goalie Jonathan Quick has three wins with a .971 save percentage for Los Angeles. Defenceman Mark Giordano and center Sean Monahan have scored for Calgary.
Kings team scope: Defenceman Alec Martinez (undisclosed) did not play in the Kings' 3-2 loss against the Vancouver Canucks on Monday and is listed as day-to-day, according the team website. Coach Darryl Sutter would not elaborate. Goalie Jhonas Enroth is expected to start. Quick played in Vancouver, stopping 21 of 24 shots. Los Angeles has lost six of eight (2-6-0).
Flames team scope: Goalie Joni Ortio will start; he made 28 saves in a 5-0 win against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. Forward Michael Frolik (lower body), who has missed the past three games, did not practice and is out. Goalie Kari Ramo (knee), and defencemen Ladislav Smid (neck) and Dennis Wideman (triceps) also remain out.
