I'm really noticing this show has a tendency towards excellent balance. At times this season when Jimmy's story was stalling for a build-up, Mike's story was front and center and moving rapidly. Now that Mike's story is moving a bit more slowly, Jimmy re-emerges with his antics and they pick up steam.
Not that I find at any point that I'm bored or frustrated with a particular storyline. Rather, they compensate when things have to get slow for a moment by hitting us with something else.
It also looks like all the stories are going to converge at a high point as we head into the final two episodes.
