The fact is they are right there with them in the standings. Maybe you're giving those 3 teams too much credit?
The Leafs can match all in prospects.
Edmonton has great 1st overalls, but can't draft after the top 5 if their lives depended on it.
And actually, the Leafs played their best when the Marlies(Future Leafs) joined the team and took over from those "Cast-Offs".
If Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary are all way ahead, why are they where they are?
