I don't know that community but that seems completely against the spirit of mafia. The whole point is a bunch of individuals get placed in the game, on different teams and then you use your own thoughts, plus those that are confirmed or perceived to be on your team to win the game.
To create a "team" as a single player, therefore giving you a hugely unfair advantage of multiple brains thinking plus way more time committed seems absolutely unfair and ruins the spirit of the game.
But again, I don't know the community, for all I know it's something that actually happens and is supported.
