I am a big fan, and he looked good. But he still has to get stronger. He still has to learn how to be a pro. He still has to develop that first stride so that he has effective speed at the NHL level.
It was immediately apparent last night that his 200 foot game is as advertised, he was great on the dot, and he totally gets it when it comes to positional play.
But he needs time in the AHL.
Oh and, right now, he simply isn't as good as Backlund and Stajan. I believe it's only a matter of time until he is, but he isn't yet.

I agree he needs seasoning and it's what's best for his development but there are a handful of players including him that could replace what stajan brings to the ice.
