Looking forward to seeing how it goes. Wrenching on a project like this would be a great way to spend some hours. Working on a car that isn't a daily driver is more relaxing than keeping some heap on the road to get to work in.
Used to have a built up K5 Blazer that my BIL built. It was a ball but unreliable, give how half assed the work on it was. I've always thought now that I'm a bit older and hopefully smarter it would be fun to do a competent build on something like this.
