Personally, I think they should all be signed because they are good in their role. They aren't going to replace Gaudreau or Monahan in an injury, but they will be needed when guys like Bouma, Ferland, Hathway get inevitably injured.
I personally really like Elson, good speed, good forechecker, fearless, stands up for his teammates. Not the biggest guy, but all heart. I'd rather see him on the 4th line then Stajan and Bollig.

In the case on Van Brabant, he is going to be 25 this season and likely doesn't bring a lot to the NHL level and isn't worth developing more in the minors when other prospects are out there needing a chance.
A few of these guys will need to be let go.
