City council to receive proposal on CalgaryNEXT in one month

We are about a month away from finding out what the city thinks about the CalgaryNEXT project On April 25th city council is expected to get a report from administration on the proposal from the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation. One of the big issues is the location, as some don’t like the West Village.
Mayor Naheed Nenshi is seemingly throwing cold water on the idea of building it out near Balzac, saying projects like CalgaryNEXT needs “excellent transit access.”
But he says it also needs good road access and parking, so they have a few things to think about in that regard. Then, of course, is the issue of funding.
