Last year my Chief Petty Officer First Class wrote up a fake posting message posting me to HMCS Victoria ( Diesel Submarine) right after she scraped the bottom of in Juan De Fuca Strait..
I thought it was a joke until the base commander sent me an email thanking me for Volunteering.. After a day of thinking "great, I'm gonna effin die in a submarine", my wife found out from another military wife before I even got home that day. My wife called my Chief and ripped into him. Because his wife and mine are friends, she told his wife and she made him sleep on the couch.
Needless to say, sometimes this April fools crap comes back to bite you in the ass..
Agreed, it needs to go. It's sooo stupid.
