The goal is to have a winning team. Maybe they'll get there but I want to see it before I crown Treliving.

Don't understand this obsession with the cap, it's pretty much irrelevant to the Flames right now. What have (or will)we missed out on due to our cap situation? Having too much cap space dedicated to players like Wideman for example doesn't matter if it frees up prior to us needing to use it.
Might make you feel better that we are finishing as low as we are, if you were able to say we weren't at the cap, but that's about all its good for. Failing to realize our worst deals are all about to expire, and failing to realize our best players are all about to get paid a few seasons before they truly earn their pay days is just ignorance to the Flames stage of development and the current environment.
I'm with you on not crowing Treliving just yet, that can wait until we see what type of team his management yields us a few years from now when our new core peaks. We won't really know until then just how well he did.
