You almost always overpay what the UFA is worth and throw off your salary structure.... Having a 3rd line RW making the same as your #1 D-man.

You say another 5 million for Bennett. He's making close to a million now, so you believe he's going to have a good enough season next year to warrant a 6 million per year deal? I guess that could happen but I doubt it.
And you say back to the cap after figuring out the goalie situation. Hiller is making 4.5, he's gone. Ramo is making 3.8 and he's probably gone too. If they sign Ortio to a smaller deal, how much above Hiller and Ramo's salaries are you thinking the Flames will spend? 7 million? 8 million? 9 million?
Just curious where your numbers are coming from. And it doesn't even take into consideration trades, buyouts, etc.
