I agree it was completely different then what I thought it would be
Spoiler!
They handled the deaths pretty well for Disney. I was upset that the Sister was killed like she was, just because I really liked her and I'm a big fan of SMG
I wasn't a fan of the helicopter Lightsabers. I thought they were silly.
I loved Maul, I was glad to see he survived. Its pretty clear that he not only wants revenge, but he wants to become the new Sith Lord. I thought he was going to completely seduce Ezra, but he got impatient and it cost him.
Kanaan is blind now, but he showed that he's now a Jedi Knight in the end.
The Ahsoka Vader duel was very well done, there could have been some more emotional context, but what I did like is that we didn't see the soft Vader of ROTJ. This was Anakin Skywalker consumed by his anger and hate to the point that he's pure Vader. The fight was well done and I was glad that Ahsoka held her own.
They certainly hinted that she survived when we saw the glimpse of her going into the temple, but is she alive or a ghost.
One of the spoilers didn't come true in that we would see some indication of Darth Revan.
Only a Sith can open the Holocron. Ezra opened it in the end, they are hinting at the beginnings of the dark journey with that one look.
I really felt Rex's pain in the end, he looked like a man conflicted with losing someone like a daughter and remaining a solider.
I would put this up with a lot of the Clone War episodes.
We didn't get the rush of Ezra turning, but we do have a lot of problems now with the good guys. Maul is alive and he's going to go after his enemies. Kanaan has lost his sight. Vader is going to go after the rebels now with a single mindedness to get that holocron.
The moral center and calm leadership of the ghost crew is gone for now
