Basically, Ross and another teammate in Rockford were fooling around on their girlfriends, both got dumped because of it, both blamed a third girl, and decided to share out nude/sexual pictures of the third girl against her will.
In Illinois, that is a felony charge with up to three years in jail. But he had those charges dropped when the investigation determined that Ross was in Michigan at the time of the crime, so the state lacked jurisdiction. In Michigan, that same offence is merely a misdemeanor.
The Hawks suspended Ross when he was charged. His future status with the team is unknown. Judging by his statistics in the AHL, my bet is Chicago washes its hands of him when his contract expires.
