Monahan has benefited scoring wise by:
1) team had Backlund/Stajan as top 2 centres when he got here. Mackinnon was back of Duchense/Ror his first 2 years.
2) Team plays offense first.. Both Barkov and Mickinnon have much better +/-
3) the flames have played a lot more exhibition games... games that are not important in the standings.
None of these guys are close to Toews.
Faceoffs are about work,focus, desire and effort. Toews lowest Faceoff % year was 53% when he was a rookie.

Darn, I guess Monahan simply doesn't have work, focus, desire or effort. Trade him for a 6th.
