Super cool bug hatch this past Saturday on a side channel of the Bow; i've never seen anything like it! The boatmen were swimming to the shore, molting or whatever they do to leave shucks and then flying away. As soon as the sun went behind a cloud they turned around and started swimming back into the water. Its not that I haven't seen hatches but the number of bugs was nuts. There were also a tonne of black and golden stones (stonefly nypmphs were working on rainbows and browns, 8 or so hookups between two of us this past weekend). What I found super odd was that 10 feet from where this crazy bug hatch was happening I had gotten into fish earlier on stonefly nymphs but there were no risers or fish activity in what would be considered an all you can eat buffet 10 feet the other way for the boatmen. I've heard of epic ant hatches on the Bow where it turns into a feeding frenzy but have yet to see be a part of a hatch where the fish are feeding. Pardon the video quality, between the two of us we have the skills of a 5 year old with the camera.
