That's my take as well. He is not a tier 1 prospect IMO, so if he is playing hardball, I wouldn't shed a tear for getting the compensatory pick, and finding a different way to fill that gap.
Obviously no one knows for sure how his career will go and I could be wrong, but I have my doubts that he will be an impact NHL player.
