Yakoupov seems to have responded decently to McLellan as far as work effort (recall his "defense" comment last season), so he (like all those guys really) just needed some stability and direction from his coaches.

Hall's done ok with it too...the others seems to have been forever ruined by the formative NHL years and Lowe's doublespeak, meddling, and cranking the carousel of coaches while getting MacTavish to do all his speaking and dirty work.

I think he can still be salvaged (somewhere else) if given the right situation, given that bounce back this year, raw talent, and size.
