This might be a stupid question, but if Jankowski didn't sign with the Flames by August 15 (and they made him an offer) but then they ended up signing him AFTER, they wouldn't still get the compensatory pick would they?
Maybe the rules say that they would, but then they'd lose a first rounder for CBA circumvention
