Agreed. I say this a lot, but people tend to forget the circumstances around the bad contracts we have on this club, at least the ones Burke / Treliving brought in.
Bad team starting a rebuild that didn't want to go the Oilers route of just handing rookies who aren't ready spots. Likely have to over pay to attract veterans (or trade for less than desirable contracts) to get players to sign on a team that appeared years away from competing. But despite overpaying (likely because he had too) Treliving kept the terms in the right ballpark sovthatvtge team would be in good shape as our younger players start to make real impacts.
Only real exception I see there is the Stajan deal.
