Of course it should. You improve the team by adding better players and pushing the worst players off the roster.
Hudler, Russell, and Ramo were not the worst players and were not squeezed off the roster. The team was not improved by subtracting them, though it stands to improve in the future because of the assets gained in those trades. If you can bring one or more of those players back without giving up any of the assets from the trades, that's not necessarily the wrong thing to do. It depends on the cap hit, the term, who's ready to be promoted from the AHL, and what else is out there on the UFA market.
Jones, on the other hand, is one CPer's pet obsession. I haven't heard anybody else suggest bringing Jones back even as a joke.
