It is still unfortunate when anyone dies of a horrible disease such as cancer, no matter how much they are disliked. He had his faults, most of which were forgivable, some of which were not - but in death, putting some of those aside to remember that he still was someone's father, wife, son and brother. Those people don't need to have their noses rubbed in their loved one's faults during a trying time seems to be something of basic decency and compassion. If you have nothing good or beneficial to say, don't say anything.
