I love reading Ricado's posts personally, even though in this case, it was my suggestion that Colborne could be a trade chip that prompted his Hamilton/Frolik vitriol.
Somewhere in his post is a fair criticism. Flames don't have enough guys playing up to their contract and ultimately that needs to change. Hamilton was seen as a potential stud defenseman that are simply very hard to acquire. He is still young and jury is out whether he will become that player. Anyone who claims to know otherwise is foolish but he is certainly out performing other defensemen his age by quite a margin. He gets paid more too.
Frolik is a guy that goods teams would like to have but you can't deny he is getting paid a premium.
Colborne is a relative bargain so why trade him? But let's see what his new deal brings. And as I said, the Flames have very few trade chips that are not draft picks (not counting "core players").
