Has the league changed their tune on expansion draft eligibility? Last I read the expectation is first and second year players will be exempt and Gillies would therefore be fine.

Edit: Just read more and it's two years of pro hockey which includes AHL. He might be available then depending on what they count this year as. Still, if he really the guy an expansion team will take? There will be other options out there.
