I had Gauthier at 6 or 7 on my list, but he is dropping. I am really mixed on him. He does fill a pressing need for the Flames though.

McLeod - I have to agree with FDW. I just don't see much 'elite' in any category. I mean, he is a great pick past the 10th slot and I think he is a 'fure sure' NHL'er, but somehow his overall skill-set just makes me think of him as a solid 3rd liner, with 2nd upside. Nylander (who is underrated for his toughness - doesn't shy away and is not undersized) in my eyes is a much more dynamic and legitimate 'top 6' or even top-line prospect.

I like Gauthier's size, and I think he moves around well. I think he has a really good NHL-ready shot. I am just not convinced he knows how to use his team mates better. If he had Tkachuk's hockey sense and/or non-stop motor, this kid would be rivaling the Finns. I love Gauthier for some reasons, but he leaves me wanting more. I see McLeod, and I think 'meh' - good player, but 'meh'.

If the Flames rise in the standings a bit more, I would bet they pick up a defencemen. No way I think will Dubois be available. Depending on what team picks him up, I see him going somewhere between 4 and 6. I can't see him going later than that. I have him 4th on my list - a very solid 4th ahead of Tkachuk, and just a smidgen below Puljujarvi (perhaps even with him on any given day).

I am just hoping that Dallas goes to the western finals, and hopefully the Flames would be able to package up that first with a couple of seconds (or all 3 if it takes that much) to jump up and grab Gauthier - and being if he is still around at 13-16 (which may be a reach). I am not sure I want the Flames taking Gauthier with their first, but I would love to walk out of the draft with a high-end defencemen/RW + Gauthier. That is more than likely just a pipe-dream. The upside is there with Gauthier - especially considering that he may actually fit really nicely opposite of Gaudreau in the long run, but just not sure he will actually work out (great tools, perhaps a bad toolbox kind of guy).
