What needed to happen was Ramo and Hiller came into the season playing like they finished last season, or Ortio coming in and truley stealing one of their jobs away when he had the chance near the start of season. Hiller never got going and the other two took forever to get going.

IMO Ramo and Hiller gone. I'd bring back Ortio on a cheap one year contract but i would make him work for the back-up job. Flames need to trade/sign true starter this off season and sign a cheap veteran back-up (less than a million) and Ortio (less than a million) to fight it out for back-up job. Loser goes down to the minors costing the flames very little in cap space if anything.
You nailed it. I would be open to signing Ramo if he is good with backup money. But if you acquire a true number one, Ramo is really not required and I like the idea of a veteran NHLer battling Ortio.
