as others have mentioned it could be a blessing in disguise to get a lesser pick because chances are we wont have to pay them as much. If we acquired matthews im convinced we would have to trade monahan or bennett after matthews elc is up. With a complementary guy like nylander or thachuck we only need them to produce around 40-50 points with bennett on the second line and we can have a balanced team.
