I've been to similar events as Hometown Hockey and the reason we didn't go down is because the lines for the attractions tend to be too long for kids to endure. They don't have the ability to wait in line for more than a couple of minutes. If you have to wait 20 or 30 minutes to do something it just becomes such a hassle.
I'm actually surprised that Hometown Hockey came to Calgary. There schedule was all smaller cities without NHL teams (exceptions being Calgary and Winnipeg.) I seems like Red Deer or Lethbridge would be more inline with the other host cities.
