Bishop, Mason, Elliott, Pavelec, and Miller will all be pending UFAs next summer. Unless their teams sign them to extensions before the Expansion Draft, none of them will need to be moved for protection.
Andersen is a RFA this summer, so we'll see how that plays out. He could sign a one-year deal and also be a UFA next summer. I wouldn't be surprised if Anaheim moves him this summer, but not because of concerns over the Expansion Draft.
Arizona and Detroit are probably hoping that Smith and Howard get claimed in the Expansion Draft just to get out from under those contracts.
