I don't think male models are as well-paid as women are.
This story says that the 10th-highest paid male model makes a little more than a quarter million a year (and Armalis isn't on the top 10 list):

Only the top 6 highest paid male models make more than the NHL league minimum.
If he can become a legitimate NHL starter, he'll make a lot more money than he ever could as a ridiculously good looking male model (and the average career for a professional model is about the same as for a professional hockey player).
