If he keeps playing the way he is, you're probably looking at $10m+ on his next contract if they sign him to a bridge deal. Pretty much the exact situation Montreal had with with PK Subban (except without the super cheap bridge deal Montreal got). Hopefully the Flames avoid that, it would likely mean forfeiting $2m-$3m in cap space right as the team is hopefully transitioning into a contender.
