There were legitimate reasons for wanting to move on from the Iginla era. Gio is playing awesome at both ends of the rink (something that Iginla stopped doing) and is playing like an 8-9 million dollar player and is under contract for less than 7.

Plus it's not like Gio is 37 or something like that.
