In regards to the first line I feel like they have gotten better at not bleeding goals against more recently.
People were harping on Monahan earlier this season but he was carrying a big load in the defensive zone when he had Gaudreau (great defensively through the neutral zone but struggles once hemmed in) and a disinterested Jiri Hudler on his wings.
