Gaudreau came directly to the NHL, 3 years after he was drafted. Mangiapane was only drafted last year. Plus Mangiapane is not a special player like Gaudreau.

Gaudreau is definitely the exception to the rule. AHL is a necessary step for most players. (and I expected Gaudreau to go down, for at least half a season).
Still happy with the Mangiapane pick. Can't argue his success in the OHL.
