It really depends on how they define 3rd year pro for the expansion draft. Because Gillies technically had 1 year pro last year signing with the Flames to burn an ELC year. Then this year could be considered his 2nd year pro. Next year could be considered his 3rd year.
Wish they would release the comprehensive rules right now.

Fucale in Montreal presuming Price is protected.
Subban in Boston presuming Rask is protected.
Murray in Pittsburgh presuming Fleury is protected.
Hutchinson in Winnipeg presuming Hellenbuck is protected.
Andersen in Anaheim presuming Gibson is protected.
I'm sure the list continues for just about everyone in the NHL. I'm not sure Gillies is ranked as highly outside of Calgary which could be a good thing. Also, his injury might just be a blessing in disguise. Not a whole lot of body of work compared to the above goalies.
