Ice is 12 to 18" thick .... Watch out around shore as one person fell through today. Caught 12 trout two over 12" the rest 8 - 10" was there from 8am till 2:30. Caught majority on green trout nibblets. A few on worms. 10 to 15' deep.

I was out today, there is enough ice to walk out on, no trucks. Fish were hitting on shrimp. Tried pink powerbait, and corn but not much action. Shrimp was good.

Have fun but be careful which it sounds like you are taking necessary precautions.

Just read you are reading the posts already from iFish Alberta. I think your plan is probably perfect take the rods and see.
