Wanted to revive this, as I have to fly up there for a final interview/meet with a mining company next week so potential I move there is quite high if I don't get anything else here in the next little while as my contract runs up. The thought the EI is pretty crummy to me, never been on it, don't really want to start but the economy is crap for anyone in O&G.
Anyone been up there lately? All I am looking at is that the weather is -20c right now and I want to crawl into a hole because of the great winter weather we had here. I've worked in the oil sands before to get experience/pay school off during university so I am used to the cold, but what do you guys think a sizeable increase in your salary justifies the move? From different boards I am seeing people mention if you do not get higher than a 20K pay bump don't bother.
