plus I don't know how you can expect to go to Dortmund and not have Dier or Dembele in midfield, Mason and Carroll can both pass the ball but they need someone physical beside them

Villa on sunday and Bournmouth the sunday after that, no clue why they couldnt go full strength for these and rest a few for each of those
I just finished watching this, and it was pretty bad. As soon as I saw the line-up I figured it was going to be ugly. Dortmund was just all over them and they could've (and probably should've) scored a few more for sure.

I think it was a good decision though because the battle now is to ensure they qualify for Champions League. Some of the players rested today have played a lot of minutes. Sure, its Villa, and Spurs should crush them. Thing is that Villa has managed to get draws against West Ham, Leicester and Man City at home this year. So while it would be nice to see something closer to the Liverpool result for Spurs fans, its not a guarantee. I also think that if they put their entire top squad out there today, lost, and then played to a draw or loss on Sunday it would be a complete disaster.

All the pressure is on Spurs now to perform. The top players basically all got their rest, so now they have to win the next couple of games to prove that was a good idea.
