This line-up is almost what the Flames have going for them next year.

They have gone 1-9-1 since Russell played his last game as a Flame.

This is the worst Flame team ... basically of all time.... What makes it worse is that they are spending pretty close to what the Cap will allow them.

It is glaringly obvious that the Flame had a better chance of winning when Wideman and Russell and Hudler were in the lineup.

The defense that is lining up last night is pretty close to what the Flames have going forward... Taking Smid out of the equation (somehow) and putting wotherspoon in at #7 leaves the Flames with the 2nd highest paid d corps in the league at 27 + M

All the analysis of the sv % of a goalie does not take in the adjustment of the run and gun style of play... Grant Fuhr when he was acknowledged as one of the best goalies in the world his sv % never reflected it.

2010-11 the Detroit Red Wings with Lidstrom and Rafalski were playing the most open run and gun system in modern History.... Howard's Sv% was his career low at .908. Lidstrom 62pts , Rafalski 48 Kronwall 37 -

In 2008-9 Osgoode was 26-9-8 and had a .889 sv %. Lidstrom 59 pts. Rafalski 59 pts Kronwall 51 pts.

Whatever goalie the Flames get under this system will see their save % drop . Higher quality shots, not as much help on rebounds and early zone exit.
