I couldn't care less about fake allergies or stupid inconvenient preferences. If you're coming over for burgers and you don't like burgers, I guess you better eat before you come, bring something else, or stay home.
I think a minority of people host the majority of events. Don't make things difficult for those people by being a hassle or nobody will like you.
If you have a legitimate
allergy, I'll have your back. Dairy allergy? I'll have something for you. Nut allergy? Don't worry, I'll make something nut-free you'll like. Gluten, vegan, etc.? Fata off.
