Perhaps Wotherspoon is the magic mesher with Hamilton.... Hamilton has gone through Gio, Russell and Wideman and Engelland is looking like the better player in the current pairing.
The comparable that I think is valid to Pollak is Klimchuck. Similar numbers as Juniors in the WHL with Klimchuck a bit better.
So on the plus side you could say that Pollak is basically worth a Flames 1st round pick (outside of Monahan/Bennett that does not mean they will be NHLers.)

First of all, I never put him ahead of Wotherspoon. However, right now, at 24, he is ahead of where Wotherspoon is right now.
Also, I have said many times that I think Wotherspoon could be the guy that becomes Hamilton's partner.
Its not a ranking system, or who has the better GRIT index or whatever... it is simply a case of the Flames needing to find that #4. And every player that it might be is another opportunity for success.
Someone will be that guy.
If Jokipakka is, this trade is a home run. If Wotherspoon is - awesome.
