Could be the most we want to spend on a rental is a 2nd or 3rd round pick ... what is the best D-man that we will get with this.
Imagine how disappointed we would have been when the Flames were in the hunt for the playoffs last year and would have trade away 2 2nds for a rental.... to replace Gio. Really has to be very few teams that realistically think that this is their year and Russell would be the difference maker.

If we were a contender, I would not be upset with that whatsoever.
As much as we love draft picks, outside of them being used as currency, they're fairly useless.
