I like both guys
I see both arguments
but can't stand it when a guy pretty much ends a conversation with tactics like cutting someone off, or misquoting.
Lou dropped the ball on this one.
If I had to pick though I'm going with the advanced stats on this one because they can't or at least shouldn't lie. The Corsi relative with all other Flames players basically suggests that only Bollig did better with Russell than without. That's pretty telling.
So the only argument that can save Russell in this one is that the shot counter has a personal bias towards him, which I can't see.
He still gets a lot of credit for doing whatever it takes to prevent bad things from happening (blocked shots), but his numbers of shots for and against when on the ice are staggering.
