Ah, the kids nowadays. I had to deal with this kind of crap in the 90s, and it was pretty much impossible to script one's way out of the problem. At that time, ‘Leet’ was all the rage among stupid and antisocial 14-year-old wannabe hackers, and the one thing at which they showed great creativity was finding ways to spell naughty words that the profanity filters would not catch.
The offending word in this case? They'd have probably spelt it beginning with the character string, |\|!993 … well, you get the idea. Add in the ability to use Unicode characters that look vaguely like Roman letters, and the problem becomes effectively insoluble. XKCD had it right.
On the board I used to run, we had a special user setting for twerps of this kind. We downgraded their account to level ‘KKK-Rad’, which meant they had zero access to anything, but (unlike a deleted account) we had a complete record of everything they had pulled and as much information as we could glean about them personally. I think ‘KKK-Rad’ was actually one level lower than ‘Banned’.
