This is a good story for people 20-30 years down the road who either forgot about this or never heard about it before. My kids will be like "Who's John Scott?" and I can explain to him what happened as I remembered it. But I can't see people wanting to watch movie about something they just watched unfold a few months or years ago.
Besides, with so much current making of history being available YouTube, it's hard to dramatize the "based on a true story" like years past. People can finish watching a movie about something that took place in 2015 and then literally go on online to find out what actually happened. I think that ruins the epic tale of it all.
