Hard to imagine Backlund being traded after the Granlund deal. Especially because I didn't get the feeling the Flames were really targeting Shinkaruk but more that they got value for a guy they thought was surplus. Trading two centers in a week would be odd.
Wonder if Russell's injury is really quite minor and he is being held out to preserve his trade value.
I don't think Wideman is going anywhere. I ma not sure Flames are really willing to retain salary and I don't even know if that gets it done. Still think he has more trade value next year and team should be patient.
