If this season wasn't enough of a lesson about middling, past-their-prime goaltending I don't know what was.
The fact that the Flames being in on Talbot and Jones last summer and inquiring about Murray this year indicates to me that they are not looking at Howard.
I hope I am right.

People are very panicky around here, but if you examine Treliving's body of work so far, nothing leads me to believe he's not going to get this right.
He was in on Talbot, but abandoned that when he had the chance to get Hamilton. That's the right thing to do 100 times out of 100. This year, goalies of Talbot's calibre or better are once again available, but I don't see many Dougies available for the song we got ours for.
He brought Ramo back because he was the devil he knew, and he knew he couldn't role with Hiller and Ortio for 82 games. Pretty clear this was a wise decision.
Frolik was a shrewd signing - just an solid professional hockey player in all the little areas. He makes the same as David Jones. Bananas.
What are his big gaffes?
Bouma? Jury's still out, I'm inclined to give Boums the benefit of the doubt due to the injuries for this year.
Raymond? Treliving needed an NHL winger on a cheap short team deal, and Raymond had a good season with the Leafs. Raymond's a local kid. I blame Mason for this not working far more than Brad.
Engelland? Dude's the least of our worries - it's a bigger concern we have his less effective more injury prone clone in Smid tied to a contract that's harder to buy out.
Treliving gets #### done, people. He's got this. He's our Green Ranger.
