If they're going to take a guy with 4 games of NHL sample size, and probably offer a substantial payment, I'd want to know how his glove hand, blocker, puck-handling, rebound control, etc are.

Not to throw cold water on your post, but many on CP have determined that sv% is a sufficient stat, not only for the body of work on a season, but also on a per game basis, by which to make pretty much definitive decisions on the performance of a goalie.
