Well it has to do with the rumors because everyone seems to get upset when you suggest trading someone because they like the guy or have his jersey or something. Who are the 5 or so guys you'd consider core pieces you wouldn't trade and then see if you'd be willing to trade the guys not on the list. I don't think Backlund is part of the core and I"d be fine trading him. I think a few teams would actually over pay to get him and I don't think the loss of him would really hurt the team that much.

Good point. I love Backlund but where would he rank in the list of players the Hawks have ditched? Middle of the pack at best?
