That would be a tremendously awful trade, actually. Value wise, Montreal would probably consider it. But it does nothing for us.
The improvement we would see by replacing Hamilton with Subban is far too small to justify giving up additional assets and increasing our cap hit by over $3 million - money we will need to pay for Bennett and mid-pair defencemen that we do need.
