I interpret the point of your post to be "do Flames fans want Reimer and if so do you want him now". My response is no I don't want him today or next season. I think that is a very valid discussion though as he is one of the few goalies that is a UFA, Western Canadian boy, and Burke is very familiar.
A lot of people are against the flames giving up any futures for a rental. You make a claim the pick is virtually worthless if dont re-sign him. The trade you propose is terrible and would never happen so people are ripping it. I think everyone on this board knows what a conditional draft pick is, but the leafs would never make that trade so in my opinion it is a moot point.
